Worship Ministry

The music ministry of First Baptist Stanley exists
to lead our congregation in the worship of God our Father and Christ our Savior
by offering a creative blend of musical styles for all age groups. 
 
Below is a brief overview of the various music groups we are blessed to offer.
 

Sanctuary Choir

 
When you come to visit one of our worship services, you may hear the choir sing anything from a semi-Classical hymn of meditation to a stirring gospel or contemporary favorite with drum set and bass guitar.  If God has blessed you with a good singing voice, give prayerful consideration to joining our choir.  This ensemble rehearses each Wednesday evening at 7:30. 

 

Children's Choir 
  
This group is on break for the summer!  "Mrs. B" directs this group of sharp young kids.  It is evident from their faces when they sing that the children are enjoying themselves.  This is a great opportunity not only to teach children about music, but to teach them important Biblical truths in a singable, memorable way.  Your children would love to be a part of this group! 

 
Handbell Choir

This group is also on break for the summer.  There is nothing quite so heavenly as the majestic sound of the handbell choir.  We can always use more "ringers," so why don't you come check out this fun and rewarding group this fall.  Mrs. Sandy Dwier is the director of the Handbell Choir.

Moving Toward Jesus (MTJ)

 
The focus of this group is on drama, creative movement, sign language, and music.  The group is open to both children and youth. Mrs. Renee Withers and Mrs. Debbie Ross direct this group.
 
Adult Drama
 
The drama sketches that our adult drama participants present in our worship services not only add a creative dimension to our worship, but they also present Scriptural Truth in shoeleather.  Sometimes humorous and sometimes serious, these presentations are a vital part of the FBC Stanley worship experience.  Mike Caldwell directs this ministry.
 
R.U.S.T.
RUST is a contemporary praise band made up of members of First Baptist.  The acronym RUST stands for "Are You Saved Today?" and was coined by one of the lead guitarists.  RUST does a mixture of originals and praise & worship standards.  If you have a musical gift and are interested in joining the band, contact Pastor Billy at bshaw@fbcstanley.org.
